Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The horn violin is a musical instrument specific to the folkloric area of Bihor, made of wooden elements with various and different proportions, the gag, the tongue, the chin, the metal rope and composite materials. According to researchers, the horn violin appeared after the invention of the gramophone. The device used the principle of capturing and recording sound vibrations on wax cylinders. The gramophone picked up sounds through a funnel and transmitted them to the resonant membrane. In the period between the two world wars, the horn violin entered the villages in the south of Bihor, along with the clarinet and drum, to mark a more pronounced dance rhythm. Systematic and consistent studies undertaken on the issue of the horned violin have determined its registration in the National Inventory of Living Elements of Intangible Cultural Heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n
