Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Christianity, which emerged in Palestine, took over from the Jews the psalms and the specific melody, but abandoned the instrumental music used in the Jewish temple. With the expansion of Christianity in Asia Minor and Europe, the influence of Greek culture led to the adoption of Greek vocal music by the Church, especially by the large number of Greeks and the Greek hierarchs in the leadership of the Eastern Church. <\/span><\/p>\n
