Abstract:
Under the artistic direction of important personalities from ”the great scene” of European performing arts (pianist Luiza Borac and violinist Florin Paul), accompanied by pianist Shih – Yu Tang and violinist Sorin Dumitru from the Konstanz Musikschule (Germany), the first edition of The International Festival – Competition of Modern and Contemporary Music, held in June 28 – 30, 2023 and dedicated to a genius of European avantgarde music, György Kurtág from Lugoj, was, in terms of the composition of the jury and the value of the competitors, in the area of excellence. This material aims to provide a brief presentation of this event as well as the visit carried out by members of the Banat Culture Association to the composer György Kurtág ‘s present home, in Budapest.
